Quiet place in February. Surrounded by water. I took the site on the tip of the island. Watched the sunrise on one side in the morning, then watched it set on the other in the evening. Trash cans available. Pack in everything else you might need. Spring City and Dayton provide convenient supplies and ample hiking on the Cumberland Trail.
Scenery was beautiful however we saw large amounts of garbage and uncleaned camp sites. Hope no one needs to use the bathroom. The portojohns were gross to say the least.
STOP TRASHING THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE YOU JERKS!! This is the trash we picked up today just in our camp spot, an ENTIRE black trash bag, and we couldn't even pick up it all. The other picture is an after, this really is a beautiful spot if it wasn't for the trash.
We are here camping with our nephews for a couple of days while they are off on fall break. The site we chose is very large. The fire pit is a plus. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. It could just be because it is October but there are not a lot of people out here. There was no portapotties but we didn't mind we brought bucket filled with kitty litter :) I cannot wait till Summer comes we will definitely be back.
We took our family here for a weekend. We loved it! The worst part was a slushy truck would drive by several times and get the kids screaming for one. Peaceful and clean tho. We will definitely be back very soon!
